Riders Republic felt like stepping into a huge playground where nobody was telling me what to do, and I kind of loved that right away. The first time I hopped on a bike and flew down a slope, I felt that little spark in my chest — the one you get when you feel fast, even if it’s only on a screen. I missed a turn, crashed into a tree, rolled for way too long, and still sat there smiling like an idiot.
Switching between bikes, skis, snowboards, and even a wingsuit felt like trying on different moods. Some days I just wanted to glide through snow and listen to the wind. Other days I picked the wingsuit and threw myself off cliffs like I suddenly trusted gravity way too much. The game never rushed me. It just let me move however I wanted across this huge, open world that felt bigger than I expected.
The mass races were the funniest kind of chaos. Fifty people slamming into each other, flipping, crashing, spinning out — and somehow I’d still try to stay calm and pretend I had control. Sometimes I won, sometimes I barely made it to the finish line, and sometimes I’d get pushed off the course and just laugh because it was impossible to stay mad.
By the end of each session, I usually felt lighter, like I’d just taken a little trip somewhere far from whatever was stressing me out.
