BrokenLore: DON'T WATCH PC Download
BrokenLore: Don't WATCH is a short horror game that caught me off guard in the best way. You play as Shinji, a reclusive guy who doesn’t leave his Tokyo apartment. At first, it just feels like a depressing look into his lonely life, avoiding calls, ignoring pizza deliveries, and sinking into games to cope with anxiety. But it doesn’t stay normal for long.
The apartment, which should feel safe, slowly becomes a claustrophobic nightmare. You’re stuck inside, lights flicker, weird noises start up, and then there's Hyakume, a creepy monster with a hundred eyes that always seems to be watching. The tension keeps building until even checking the peephole feels terrifying.
I like the horror that BrokenLore: Don't WATCH depicts. This is not about jump scares but about isolation, fear of judgment, and mental health. Therefore, the game feels great, and the experience is horrifically disturbing. The game doesn’t hold your hand. However, the slow pacing helped me figure things out naturally, even in the trippy, low-poly "Minecraft" segment.
The realism in Shinji’s cramped apartment pulls you in. When the style suddenly switches to something more retro, it actually adds to the unease. The music at the end also hits hard. It is quiet and emotional, a perfect contrast to all the fear leading up to it.
A few things could be better in BrokenLore: Don't WATCH, like the voice acting and performance (my PC fans definitely kicked in hard), but overall, it didn’t ruin the experience. If you like short horror stories with real themes and psychological depth, DON’T WATCH is worth playing. Maybe you shouldn’t play it alone at night. For a total shift from creeping dread to heroic action, you can download Dimensionals and join a squad of champions protecting reality across parallel worlds.
