Diner Bros 2 dropped me right back into the chaos I didn’t know I missed. The second I opened my little restaurant, I was already running around, flipping burgers, burning fries, and yelling at myself to move faster. Everything felt like it was on fire — not literally (most of the time) — but that kind of fire where every second counts and customers are just staring like they're about to explode.
The customers were totally unhinged. One kid would only eat drumsticks. Some jogger kept rushing me like I was the finish line. And then there was this punk who I swear ran off without paying — I didn’t even have time to chase him because the next order popped up. It was madness. But the kind that makes you laugh instead of quit.
I saved up enough to buy better stuff. A faster fryer, maybe an extra table. Rearranged the kitchen like five times just to shave off two seconds. Didn’t even matter — the rush still hit hard. But every time I got through a round without messing up too bad, I felt like a champion.
Sometimes I played solo, hired a helper to grab the plates or serve the food. Other times, I convinced a friend to join and scream at the screen with me. A little less bumping into each other. A little more teamwork. Still dropped food now and then, though.
Even when I was exhausted, I’d go back and try again. Maybe today I’ll finally get that critic to give me three stars. Or maybe I’ll just burn everything and serve the jogger last again.
