Drop Duchy – The North felt like stepping into a colder, harsher version of the world I thought I already understood. The first time I pushed my troops onto those Viking-inspired battlefields, everything felt more chaotic than before — units fighting on their own fronts, no more neat little lines, no more waiting turns for the next strike. I remember staring at the grid for a long second, trying to convince myself I could handle the mess I’d just walked into.
Every group needed attention. One flank would start slipping, another would be pushing forward too fast, and I’d feel this quiet panic building as I tried to guide everyone at once. It wasn’t the kind of panic that made me freeze — it was the kind that made me lean in closer, thinking harder, like the battlefield was whispering, “Keep up or fall apart.”
And the raiding… that felt like temptation wrapped in risk. Breaking into a building for a burst of resources always felt good in the moment, but losing that structure afterward left a sting. Losing defense and gaining new units after the hit made me feel like the game understood me — like it knew I was struggling but wanted to give me just enough fire to push back.
