Drop Duchy took me by surprise. I thought I was playing Tetris—but I was building a kingdom. Every block I placed wasn’t just a shape; it was a farm, a barracks, or a path to survival.
Instead of clearing lines, I had to think about resources, troop placement, and terrain bonuses. Forests gave me wood, plains supported buildings, and military tiles spawned soldiers if I met their quirky conditions. One mistake and enemies could overwhelm me—but when a plan worked, it felt incredible.
Combat added another layer. My troops—archers, knights, and pikemen—followed a rock-paper-scissors system against enemy types. Every battle became a puzzle of positioning and priorities.
Then came the deck building. After each run, I unlocked new cards and modifiers. Some boosted buildings; others added new abilities. The more I played, the more creative my strategies became.
Even when I failed, I didn’t feel punished. I’d jump back in with better cards, smarter choices, and a hunger to go further.
I started with The Duchy, but unlocking The Republic and The Order changed everything—new cards, mechanics, and missions. And with over 100 progression goals, there was always something new to chase.
