Echoes of the End pulled me in the moment I stepped into Ryn’s boots. The air felt cold, heavy with something I couldn’t see yet, and every step forward made me think about my brother. I didn’t have time to wonder what would happen if I failed — the world around me already felt like it was holding its breath.
The first time I used magic, it didn’t feel like a trick or a tool. It felt dangerous, like it might turn on me if I wasn’t careful. Swinging a sword between bursts of power felt raw, like the two sides of me were always at war — the fighter and the thing inside that wanted to burn everything down.
I didn’t expect Abram to matter much at first, but he was there when the silence felt too heavy, and we fought side by side when things got bad. Sometimes we talked like old friends, sometimes like strangers walking the same road for different reasons.
The places we passed through didn’t feel like set pieces. Lava cracked under my feet, snow burned my skin, and every cliffside made me want to stop just to look. Also, I could almost believe the land was alive, watching us, waiting for something.
There were moments when the fighting blurred into instinct, the puzzles made me stop and think, and the story pulled me closer without me even noticing. I wasn’t chasing glory — just trying to keep my brother alive and maybe find myself in the process.
