Skin Deep is one of the weirdest and most fun games I’ve played in a while—and I say that with complete affection. You’re barefoot on a starship, sneezing, slipping, bleeding, and somehow surviving space pirates with a ridiculous combo of stealth, chaos, and cat-saving. It feels like someone mashed together Deus Ex, System Shock, and Home Alone, then cranked the absurdity up to eleven.
The game doesn’t hold your hand but rewards creativity in every direction. Want to take out a pirate by sneezing on them, then booting them off a balcony while slipping on the soap you dropped earlier? You can. The systems constantly interact in hilarious ways, and it never gets old finding out what’s possible, especially when everything spirals into nonsense because of one dumb mistake (like stepping on glass barefoot and alerting the whole ship).
I love how it blends a serious sci-fi atmosphere with absurd comedy, and the voice acting (shoutout to ProZD) adds so much charm. And while it looks rough in places due to the old Doom 3 engine, the game still feels stylish and cool.
If you’re into immersive sims, goofy sandbox systems, or want to play something that feels completely unique and alive, Skin Deep is a must-play. Just be ready to improvise—a lot.
